Dada???

Wow! Who is this? It has been four or five years since we have seen this face. Ky decided to shave on Wednesday night. At first the girls didn't know what to think of him. Kaitlyn says "you're not scratchy anymore". Kami just looked at him funny. They all seem to love it and I am coming around. It is funny I have wanted him to shave forever and now, I guess I was use to the old look. I did laugh as he was doing it, I was afraid he might be baby white underneath!
On a side note; Yesterday Kami started saying Dada. I said she is just wandering where he is! I am shocked! She is such a mama's girl I thought for sure she would say it first. Kyle was sure beaming though!
Congratulations Devin & Julie!

Pumpkins!!!

We had to put Kaitlyn's in the fruit basket to keep it upright!
Almost done!
Oops!
:)
He finally got a big one!!!
So cute!

Here are our pumpkin picts. We did this Monday night. Keep in mind we were all still sick, but we made the most of it and had fun. I did have a little mishap with the knife. My pumpkin was like an inch thick and frozen on top of it! The pumpkin won. Kyle cheated and didn't hollow his out. We found these patterns in a book from the library. I did not trace mine on my pumpkin, just eyeballed it. Kyle had to tape his on!!! In fairness his was much harder. The girls enjoyed the foam this year and it was cleaner than our usual marker look. Okay, I did help Kami a little! When we were done there was tape all over the table! I did try and get Kaitlyn to use more than just white, but I guess it wasn't all in black so her color spectrum is expanding! We had a good time and the pumpkins look great!

Defeat

I admit defeat. Yesterday I woke up and my world was spinning, my ear hurt worse than ever. After lunch I gave in and called the doctor. Combined with the fact that I was starting to cough and my chest hurt I had no choice. I was pretty sure I had an inner ear infection and the first signs of bronchitis. Thankfully, I have a wonderful doctor in Pocatello that called me in the right stuff and I am feeling much better today. I hope I caught my cough in time. I also had to make a call to the pediatrician. Somehow Kami got thrush. How a bottle child can get thrush I couldn't figure it out. The office called us in another prescription and said she probably got it from another child. She loves her new medicine, haha! She is feeling much better today and even has her appetite back. Ashley still hasn't got the cold! But Kaitlyn doesn't seem to be progressing like I wish she would. My attention has now turned to her and hopefully she is better by Halloween! I will post some pumpkin pictures as soon as I can get everyone to pose with their pumpkins.
Good luck Devin & Julie!!

Pumpkin carving or not...

Tonight was the annual pumpkin carving at Ky's parents house. We missed it. First time in like ten years we weren't there. We all (except Ashley) have a cold. I have been feeling it all week. Kaitlyn was stuffy yesterday, but was running a fever and coughing more this morning. Kamryne woke up about 1 am with a nasty fever and could hardly breathe. She is so snotty, the poor thing is miserable. My ears and throat seem to be the worst, but hopefully it stops there. A simple cold for me is usually not simple, I am afraid the same may be true for Kami. Kyle on the other hand seems to recover quickly and is already running around here. He had to play the piano in sacrament and took Ashley with him. Jen and Brody were kind enough to bring her home after church. Kaitlyn will be giving her talk next week. I just hope everyone is well enough to go trick or treating on Friday. We missed seeing everyone tonight but figured everyone else did not want this nasty cold. So, hopefully we can squeeze in some pumpkin carving this week.

Girl's Night!!

Well, Kyle had another camp out this weekend. I think he is crazy, it is cold out there! We made the best of it though. We had some fun "girl time". We started off with homemade pizza and a movie (Barbie and the Diamond Castle). The girls had so much fun making the pizza. If you look close you will see Ashley's one pepperoni on her piece! We also had to set up for the slumber party. Yep, when Kyle isn't home we pull out the blowup and they camp out in my room, this is tradition. They use to camp out in my bed but since Kami occasionally ends up there it is not the best idea. The girls love the blowup and love taking it down. They launch themselves onto the thing and love to bounce away. This morning we had blueberry pancakes followed by a bubble bath in my tub. The jets really get the bubbles going and we had bubbles everywhere! This afternoon we made sugar cookies and the girls had a ball with them. I am not sure if Kaitlyn decorated or ate more frosting! Ashley sure enjoyed decorating and did more than half of them. Kami even got in on some dancing action. We ended the day finishing our "Sam" book from the library. We had so much fun spending some alone time together. I think we all needed a relaxing couple of days. The only cleaning we did today was dishes. We do miss Kyle when he is gone, but we had some real fun!
Here is a pic of Kyle being very "manly". After the campout he went to the ward wood project and didn't get home until early afternoon. He then spent a couple of hours cutting up wood for us and throwing it in the basement. I sure appreciate being a girl some days!
Happy Birthday Audra!

FIRE!!!

We have fire! Our stove is up and running! Kyle finished sealing the grout last night and moved the stove and got it all hooked up. We had to let the rest of the mortar set and we finally fired it up tonight. The basement is warm so far, but it is filtering up the stairs. I am excited to have heat! Now on to the next honey-do on the list!!!

Immunizations

Kami had shots yesterday. She is doing very well. She actually does better than the Ashley and Kaitlyn did. She cried for about 5 seconds until I picked her up. It is sad to say, but she cries worse when Kyle is holding her and I walk by! She seems good today too, just a little fever. Kami weighed 15.15 pounds, almost sixteen pounds! She is 27 inches long! Yes, she has grown 7 inches in six months. The doctor asked me if she is crawling yet, nope. She pulls her knees up but that is it. He thinks she may skip crawling and just walk. WHAT!!! She is only six months old I do not want a walker yet! He did say we will have to hold off on all dairy products till she is almost a year. I hadn't thought about not giving her cheese for awhile. Hopefully, she will tolerate little quantities when the time comes. I guess it will be sherbert for her birthday. But we did manage to go to dinner and grocery shop when we were done. She is such a good baby!

Tagged

Sabra tagged me. This is my sixth pic in my sixth file. Cute isn't it? This is one of my faves of Kaitlyn. I took this at McDonalds after Marianne's ballet recital with my cell. Now I tag... Missy, Audra, and Julie (unless your in labor).

Progress!

Well, it has been another busy week but we did it. The tile is in!!! Now we need to grout and then we can set the stove. We will have heat after all!
I guess I should start at the beginning. Last week Kyle called me from the doctor's office and said "they x-rayed my knee and attempted to drain it". Kyle's knee had been bothering him all week and then Sunday the fluid and redness started to move down his leg. His wife said "you have cellulitis go see a Dr" but he waited until Tuesday. They never did get any fluid off his knee, a good sign, and guess what- cellulitis! So, he got a shot and some heavy antibiotics and orders to rest. Well our stove plans got put on hold. Kyle rested and this weekend we were able to accomplish this:
And...
And...
the ugliest chimney on earth!
We will eventually cover this chimney and the one in the back with rock. We would like them to match the rock on the front of the house. So, we are back on schedule. Provided no other injuries, we will have the stove in Wed! We will still need to put in the back walls and tile them, the basement still has a long way to go.
FYI Kyle's knee issue was a secondary infection from the hammer to the lip incident, both are looking a ton better.
We also pulled out the bigger toys for Kami this weekend. She has had a ball discovering new things. The girls also enjoyed finding "lost" toys in the buckets. We did find a singing puppy that Kami just adores. She is getting so big and is now trying to stay up past eleven at night. I am turning another one into a night owl!
Even though the barn season has slowed my days still seem as busy as ever. We now have a lot of preparations for Halloween and all the other events that go with it. Not to mention Kyle is headed off for another scout camp out. On top of it all I can't tell if my allergies are bothering me or if I am coming down with something. We did have a ton of dust and insulation flying around this weekend. I guess only time will tell.

6 months old

Kamryne is six months old today. We have shots next week so I will know then how much she weighs and how long she is. She is such a happy baby (screaming while I write this). She loves her sisters, her baby food, and drinking out of a cup. She loves to push herself around in her walker. She can sit up and roll over. She will protest if you take a toy away. The last two nights Kami has slept through the night! She takes a small morning nap and a good afternoon nap. Although, she is trying to eliminate both. That is not going to happen! She brings such a sweet spirit to the house. The girls love her so much, we are all really enjoying her. Yes, she is still a big mama's girl. She is growing so fast and I can see her wanting to do everything her sisters do. I can't believe it has been six months already!
On a side note, Ashley went back to school today and we miss her. I think Kaitlyn misses her the most. We also decided on an official name for the puppy.... Ralph won out.

What did you do this past week?

I have been meaning to post all week and just haven't gotten around to it, so here it goes:
When we moved here two years ago I lost a vital piece to my kitchen, my bread maker kneading pin. Guess what! I found it on ebay and it came this week (they don't make this model anymore). We have been enjoying fresh bread all week! It isn't that I don't know how to make it by hand, but it takes time and I don't have it. Now I can have bread whenever I want, even first thing in the morning.
The vital piece!
Kami decide to start sitting up this past week. Now I knew she could do it for awhile, but she wouldn't. Even now if she realizes she is and you are watching she will fall right over. Yes, she can sit without the boppy.
Poor Kyle. He has been a busy boy this week. First he knocked out all the walls in our basement with a sledgehammer and then he moved the water heater by himself. We are getting everything prepped to pour concrete and tile for our wood stove. I will post more pictures after we have finished a few more things, it is still pretty scary looking down there!
Also, since the weather decided to do this;
Look closely and you will see snow.
I had to pull out all the snow clothes! The girls did enjoy playing outside in the snow! The puppies didn't quite know what to think of it, but they enjoyed it.
While we were at it we had fun pulling out the Halloween costumes and trying everything on!
It is fun to see all the costumes stored away and Kaitlyn had a tough time choosing. I am making Ashley's costume this year and need to get a moved on it. You will have to wait to see what they are going to be.
I also got craftsy and made some hair bows this weekend. I made some for Ashley and Kaitlyn and some headbands for Kami.
I think we kept pretty busy with a trip to IF, two to Rexburg, and the cold weather. I was able to get a lot of "inside" things done and feel like my to do list shrunk some. I am not happy that it has gotten so cold so soon. We were attempting to keep the house warm with just the fireplace in the bedroom but on Friday I had to crank up the heat. I have been refusing to fill the propane tank due to the high cost of propane. We are low and Kyle is working to get the wood stove in and going before we run out! I think this week may manage to be even busier, but I got myself a good book and am trying to squeeze that in too!

We're back!

Our internet works! It is funny how much and how often I use our computer. The internet went out sometime Friday afternoon and was out all weekend. Every time we have issues and I call them I get told "my computer is the problem", then after three days they magically discover it is them! You gotta love Fremont telecom. Anyway, we are back and boy did we have a busy couple of days. Kyle ended up staying home on Friday when he discovered he twisted his back getting hit in the face by the hammer. So, we spent the afternoon at the physical therapy office. The guy did such a great job I am thinking about having my neck looked at (old whiplash injury from high school). Well between running him around and taking care of kids I did not get done what I needed to. Today has been catch up day. I have spent the whole day cleaning floors and doing laundry, and I am still doing two more loads now. We spent most of Saturday and Sunday lounging around watching conference, which we enjoyed. I organized over 300 photos on Saturday and got them all in the right albums. I have been a little behind on my photo processing. Oh and did I mention we got another puppy.
Meet Ralph or Chuck or whomever... We haven't narrowed a name down yet. We started out with Ralph and then moved to Chuck and sometimes I call him Curtis, just because. This is Kaitlyn's puppy, and well enough said. He is an Irish setter mix and boy is he fat! He will be smaller than Sam but still good sized. He is not as mischievous as Sam, yet. He is a good puppy and still a little timid. At least Sam will stay outside without whining now. He is quite a bit bigger and puts this little guy through the ringer.
Also, somewhere in the past few days Ashley decided that she can climb trees now!
Yes, this makes me very nervous, but at least it isn't a slide at the pool 8 feet above a concrete slab! She is growing up so fast and loves to be big. She seems to have grown up more since starting school, now she has to keep up with her friends. We are enjoying our last week of Harvest. The girls spent much of today out back with the puppies. We are enjoying every last bit of weather we can get! Now to bed so I can start all over again with more laundry! Does it ever end???

My sweet left hook!

I come from a family that teaches you to take care of yourself. Now, Kyle knew this before he married me, so you think he would have thought twice before popping off to me!!! Just kidding, I had to tease him about it though. Poor Kyle one of the guys at work today slipped with his hammer and hit Kyle right in the lip. He cut the inside of his lip about 1.5 inches long and about 1 cm deep, not quite deep enough for stitches though. The doctor was on the fence with it. So, now Kyle looks like he has been clocked and can't eat much. I guess he bled pretty bad and had a bit of shock. He ended up home for the day to rest. He is still bleeding some and it is pretty painful as you can imagine. I am glad he didn't lose any teeth or an eye, it could have been much worse.
These past three days have not been good for injuries around here. Poor Kaitlyn had her fingers slammed in the door on Tuesday. Then yesterday at gymnastics Ashley caught her toes under the door. She about took the tip of the second toe off. It amazes me how many near misses it seems we are having. It has been over a year since our last trip to the ER, maybe we are due. Oh, and did I forget to mention that Kaitlyn bit her lip at gym yesterday too! I have seen more than my fair share of blood lately!! Any suggestions for good karma?

Pam's Birthday Fun

The girls and their pumpkins

Yesterday was Aunt Pam's Birthday. She turned how old!!! We had tons of fun. She had arranged a scavenger hunt for everyone. We enjoyed running all over her yard and HUGE garden. We picked flowers, orange plums, radishes, and even pink (if you could find them) Indian corn. In the end Mahon and Cindy won, congrats. Missy cheated and tied with Chris and Chantelle for second. Yes Missy, cheated! But we all had a blast and then enjoyed some awesome food. Wow, there was so much leftover. We also had the fun task of finding our pumpkins. Pam has a good sized pumpkin patch and she had carved everyone's name in a pumpkin and we had to find it. The night ended with a bang and some very "legal" fireworks. Kyle had the lovely task of changing a flat tire before the night was through, but we didn't let it ruin our evening. We had so much fun visiting with everyone and can't wait to do it again next year! Thanks Pam!!
