Check up

I went in yesterday for my check up with hopes the doc would strip my membranes or possibly move up the induction, neither happened. What I got was a little scare instead. When he checked her heart beat he said "sounds great but it's in the wrong place". He couldn't tell if she was still head down or breech. Well after waiting for the ultrasound room we saw that she is still head down, sort of. She is sitting funny in there. Now I have to go back in on Thursday so he can check her position and see if we are good to go for Friday. I think I will cry if he says we can't induce. I also found out the hospital only does 2 inductions a day, I am first on the list for Friday. Ahhh I am so ready to be done! I think since she has been so ornery already we are due for a nice sweet baby, right?!?

Update

I am actually shocked that I made it to 38 weeks. I was really worried we weren't going to make it to 34 weeks. Now I have less than a week to go! We are so excited for her to come! I still have some worries about things but I think we will be okay. She still has a small risk of having some problems from my iron deficiency anemia. Her lungs could not be completely developed, she could have iron deficiency anemia, and she could be small (I don't see this happening). I really think she is going to be okay, she has been growing like crazy lately, this doesn't help my comfort level. I am so ready to have my body back to myself! And I can't wait to sleep on my stomach again, or just sleep comfortably for the 2 hours at a time I will get! We are completely ready I just have a few things to finish. I want to make some more hair bows and try to finish my blanket. Next week will fly by with Ash's ballet recital stuff. I just hope that the L&D isn't full come Friday!

In other news we have been trying to get the yard all cleaned up (well minus me). The girls have been helping me weed my flower bed and they have been such a good help. They have got to spend a ton of time outside lately and were sporting some pink cheeks for awhile. We moved Kami up to a bigger bike and now she can ride in the driveway without getting high centered, so funny btw!

Ash saw the orthodontist the other day and her teeth look great. He said that she is all ready for braces, but we have to wait until she has more permanent teeth. He was shocked at how fast her jaw moved and she is now a class 1 instead of an 8!!! I hope Kaite's will move that fast.

About a month ago Kaite's gymnastics coach told me they wanted to move her up to the pre-team. I decided to wait until summer for schedule reasons. Well a couple of weeks ago she told me they decided she is ready for the team instead. They had been testing her on pre-team stuff and she passed it all and is doing some skills better than the team girls. She also said Kaite is very athletic and picks things up quickly, I already knew that. She is so cute. So for now we will do the non-competitive team. I don't have the time and effort to put her in 6 hours a week and have all the meets to go to right now with a new baby. Their meets can be up to about 16 hours away for 2 days, and there are so many. I am so proud of her though!

Last night we went on our last date for awhile. We went to dinner and a movie. We saw The Avengers, it was a long movie but good. Ky loved it. I thought it was good and funny but started a little slow. Now my opinion could be tainted by the fact that I was pretty uncomfortable during most of the movie.

Maybe I will get another post in this week before the baby comes.....we will see.

Done!

The girls are all in their new rooms and we are ready for the baby.
Here is Kami's new room. She loves it and transitioned better than I thought she would. There is so much more space with just one kid in there.
And here is the baby's room with a fresh coat of yellow paint.
I finished the bumper pad last week, it was so much easier than I thought it would be. I would have liked to use a brighter pink, but all I could find was fuchsia. Also, I love the butterfly pattern. The skirt was harder to make than the bumper pad, but still not too bad thanks to all tricks Cindy taught me. I made it just like the skirts she taught me to make, so pretty easy.
All her clothes are washed, folded, and put away. We have everything out and set up so we really are good to go. I forgot how small the diapers were! They almost fit Kami's doll!
I had my appointment on Monday and got to see Dr. A, I was so happy about that. He did seem concerned that I put on 2 pounds in a week (complete surprise to me since I can't eat and have felt like crap) and was very concerned that I am measuring significantly bigger than I should be. He wants to double check my measurements next week and see where we are, my chart now has a big note on the front. He did stick me on the schedule to be induced on the 25th, but did say we may move that up a week depending on how my next appointment goes. He also said he is worried about inducing too early since the iron deficiency anemia can cause lung problems. It sounds like her lungs might not have matured as quickly as they normally would have. He also said if I go full term she will easily be 9-9.5 pounds, so much for my small baby! He said she is taking up every inch of space in there and I don't have a small uterus, uh is that good? I am to the point that I am ready to be done, but also I don't want her to have any problems. This iron thing has been such a pain and has caused so many problems already! Now I just want everything to go smoothly!

36 Weeks!

I made it to 36 weeks! Everything looks good. The doc said I am good to go and I don't have to stop the contractions anymore, but he did say that she could still spend some time in the NICU though. I think we will see if we can make it another couple of weeks, besides I still have a few things to finish before she comes. Also, I still need to get my iron levels up, I don't want a blood transfusion. She does seem like she is smaller than the other three. I was going to ask him when I was in how big she seems but I forgot. Iron deficiency anemia causes smaller babies among other things.
We are all so excited for her. Her room is painted and almost ready, I am still making the bumper pad. All the girls are in their rooms with minimal things to finish. We have been playing musical rooms the past two weeks! It has been so crazy around here but it is almost over!!

And no I am still not posting pictures of my giant tummy.....well not yet.

Doctors visits

Wow, well this past week has been something. Kaite had the stomach flu, and even had a vomiting incident at school. Ky and Kami have bronchitis. Kami is so sick the doc thought it was pneumonia at first. I am still in shock that I missed how sick she was. She cries and sleeps all day, I am not sure she is getting much better. She hates her breathing treatments and medicine, plus she doesn't want to eat. She complains constantly about a headache- this really worries me. We may have to visit the doc again. This particular cold has now made its way through all of us, but seemed to get worse as it went. We haven't had a decent nights sleep around here all week. Ash has been perfectly fine and now Kaite is all better, thank goodness!!
I had my doc appointment yesterday. Since I had to reschedule I didn't get my regular nurse, and I managed to give the one I had a good scare. The glucose crap gave me a bad reaction this time and I got so dizzy at the office. The nurse and her student (doing her clinical rotation) wouldn't let me out of their site. Then she drew a bunch of extra blood "just in case", its a good thing she did. Turns out my H/H and Fe are really low. So now I am on iron pills (high dose) twice a day. I was told we have to get my iron up before I have the baby or I may need a blood transfusion and have to stay longer in the hospital. Great this is what I needed more problems!! I am also on a high iron diet and have to watch what I eat since it can interfere with all the pills I am taking. Ky says I have to eat a bowl of Total everyday since I can get almost a days worth of iron from one bowl, yuk I don't like Total. I also had my RhoGam shot and had to argue with her about having it in my arm. How frustrating! They finally agreed and I told them the flu shot was worse, it still isn't bothering me. Later the doc told me they like to give it in the hip because one gal had a bad reaction to it in her arm and thought she was going to die, oh my. I told them I have had it now 3 times in the arm and 2 times in the hip and the arm is so much better! I can't walk when they give it to me in the hip and it HURTS! Oh, and my sugars were all completely normal inspite of my reaction I had. Also, I lost 4 pounds in the last two weeks.
I am officially 28 weeks now and in that last trimester phase. I feel more comfortable with where we are now, I know if she was born now she would survive. I did have a good laugh though when she kicked the Doppler wand twice! Even the doc was shocked and she didn't kick around it or even close, she kicked it! She has a spunky personality already. And she may be a daddy's girl, she loves him so much. She will move and snuggle up to him whenever he touches my belly or when we are laying in bed at night, I think it's because he is so warm. She runs from Ash's cold hands, and likes to kick Kami when she snuggles with me! She is funny, she always wakes up to Kaite and likes to do flip flops when Kaite talks to her.
I feel like my life has been turned upside down this past week.

Congrats to George! He is graduating from his Naval Officers Training today.
