The past 24 hours

The past 24 hours have been eventful. It started off yesterday afternoon I went to the doctor for an earache. I have had one for the past week and half, but this isn't anything abnormal. I always get earaches with my allergies and since they are cutting hay my allergies have been in overdrive. Anyway, both ears where infected and my right ear (the one that has really been bothering me) had tons of pressure behind it. Well I figured that while I was there I would mention my lymph node that has been swollen for about four months, yeah I know better. He drew some blood and said everything was normal, but I am getting hyped up on strong antibiotics and if they don't work then I get to have a biopsy, uh no thanks! So then me and the girls got to spend 45 minutes in Walgreens waiting for my prescriptions to be filled that were called in an hour and a half before we got there, my patience was very tested. When we finally got home it was past dinner no one had their homework done and we hadn't started FHE yet. Well the night got even better at about 9:00 Kami fell out of the barstool. She hit her head pretty hard and ended up with a nasty bump over her left ear and a slight concussion. She was also complaining that her neck hurt, I thought she strained a muscle. So we stuck her in bed with us and this is what happened next.
12:00 Kami woke up crying holding her neck
2:30 Kami woke up crying, I got looking at her and told Ky I thought it was her collar bone
3:30 Kaite woke up crying with nightmares, also joined us in bed
4:30 we put Kaite back to bed, Kami cried
5:00 Kaite woke us up because Ash was puking, both girls ended upstairs on the couch. I started laundry and Ky cleaned the carpet.
5:30 Ash pukes again
7:40 Kami woke up crying and everyone got up, Ash pukes again
9:15 Ash pukes again
I then took Kami to the doc for a confirmation on the collar bone (a doc visit two days in a row). Yep broken, the good news is that it isn't broken completely through. So it will heal in about two weeks. The bad news (which we already knew) they can't do anything for her but drug her and keep it in a sling. She is doing really well. She has actually been singing and dancing, until she moves her arm. She cries anytime she moves it. She was so cute and just wanted to look at the fish at the docs office. She was terrified of the x-ray machine, but held real still. So, we are on the couch for the rest of the day watching Tinkerbell and the great fairy rescue and I still have laundry. I am hoping everyone will take a nap, or at least early bedtime tonight.

Special Day

Saturday was a very special day. The day started at 1am. Chris text us to ask about the labor and delivery nurses, hmm what could that mean? Chelsea Ramona was born at 5:02 am at 6 lbs. 15 oz. 18 1/2 inches long. She is such a cutie!
(I stole Missy's pic since it was so cute)
More on her later.
The rest of the day was go go go. We had breakfast and then prepared the feast. We had steelhead salmon, dutch oven chicken, and baked potatoes. I got a few before pics, but not much since we were so busy.
Anna had a fun weekend playing with Kami
Lunch was good and went very well. Chantelle had been nesting and made a ton of rolls and cookies for us. We had so much food! Ash got this cute towel.
After lunch we headed over to the church for Ashley's big moment. She was so nervous, it was so cute. Ash was baptized in the dress I was baptized in.
Ash and Cali
The baptism was beautiful, everyone did a wonderful job. I am so proud of her.
We tried to get some cute family photos. Kami and Kaite had a different idea. We got lots with faces like this.
We got a few good ones.
She was so happy and we had a good day. Sis. Hawkes brought this over for Ash. I think it was a big hit!
Thanks to everyone who made the day so special. She really did have a good day. For the rest of the weekend we hung out at the barn. We visited, watched movies, and hot tubbed. Then on Sunday afternoon we did this.
We went and saw Chelsea. She is so cute! I hogged her and held her for like an hour, it was awesome! She sure liked Kaite though. She just looked at her and studied her, Kaite loved it!
This post is shorter than I wanted, I think I am still recovering from the lack of sleep. I might post more later.

Mindy Gledhill

Last Saturday night we went to the outdoor concert for the grand opening of Sammy's. I heard Mindy Gledhill was going to be there and wanted to see her. It was very interesting. The concert was good, but we felt so old. I have been to my fair share of concerts but it has been awhile since I have even seen a mosh pit! We enjoyed ourselves, but some of the music was definitely not our taste. Mar joined us and much to my surprise spotted Mindy on the sidewalk like ten feet away. We were able to get pictures and talk to her. She is such a nice person and has the best personality. When she did sing she gave an awesome concert. She went last so we didn't stay for the whole thing (had to get kids to bed) but I am very glad we went!
The line for Sammy's was so long, so we hit the pretzel place for dinner. This was our garlic parmesan pretzel, yum! We still need to go back to Sammy's and try one of their famous pie shakes.

So I finally downloaded the pictures from Ky's phone this morning. I was going through them and there were photos from July that I had not seen. I thought I would throw them into this post.

Now back to the baptism preparations.

Happy Birthday Ashley!

My baby turned 8 yesterday! I can't believe she is already 8, it seems like she was born yesterday. We started out with her friends party on Saturday. She had four friends over. I had five seven year olds, Kami, and Kaite at one time. That is a lot of GIRL! They had fun playing twister.
Eating pizza
Watching Barbie in a Mermaid Tale and dancing in the living room.
Eating cake and ice cream
She wanted a volcano cake this year, easiest cake ever!
Opening presents
Cali and Ashley
Lily and Ashley
Shelby and Ashley
Abby and Ashley
They had a ton of fun and were very noisy, but I will still take girls over boys any day!
Sunday Ash woke up really early ready to open presents.
New fairy books
A rock book, she loves rocks and has quite the collection
A CTR necklace
New scriptures with her name on them
And her big present this year was a purple MP3 player
For breakfast we had french toast and english muffins, her choice.
We then headed off to church. After church we had her choice of dinner- pesto pork chops with angel hair pasta and peaches. Then all the family came over for cake and ice cream. We really got the cake steaming this time (hot water) but it did put the candles out.
Then present time
poor Chantelle, yesterday was her due date
Marianne was in charge of my camera, so I have lots of these pics. I don't have any idea what Kaite has in her mouth.
Mahon and Cindy
Missy and Briant being goofy
The gorgeous necklace and jewelry box Chris and Chantelle gave her.
Lip gloss and makeup
Thanks to all those who made her birthday special! I am so proud of Ashley. Ky and I were talking the other day about her and she is just amazing. She is such a wonderful person. She has high standards and values. She is the best friend and sister ever! She is so thoughtful and nice to everyone. She is such a good example to all of us, especially me. I don't think I can name all the wonderful things about her, but you can see it just by spending a little time with her. Her teacher told Ky what a wonderful girl she was and that she is such "a good role model for the rest of the class" she said this after the third day of school. I don't think I could be any more proud of her. Happy Birthday Ashley we love you!

Oh and Ashley is now in the gifted and talented program at school! Way to go Ash!
