Spring Break

I have been trying to write this post for almost a week now and just haven't had the time, plus there is so much it was a little overwhelming!
Spring break was a very busy time for us. We started with parent-teacher conferences and then our 15th anniversary. So on Friday we decided to take the girls out for some fun. We went ice skating, so Kami could show off her skills and the rest of us could polish the ice!!
We had so much fun, well most of us!
This is where Kaite spent most of her time, literally on the ice! She is so dramatic, she said she doesn't ever want to skate again....
Kami showed off her skills. She has been really practicing this.
Showing her swizzles. She did so well with her lessons but I will save that for another post.
Her and Ash raced around the rink. Ash fell down a lot but got up and kept going, she had fun. She also had a nasty bruise on her knee the next day.
Kami skated circles around all of us, but we did have fun. Ky held out much longer than I did, I forgot how much it hurts your feet. I do wonder if it had anything to do with Ky having hockey skates and I had figure skates, hockey skates have so much more support. We were able to time it right and go during Lyvi's nap time and she just slept at Grandma and Grandpa's.
That evening while Ash was at ballet Mar highlighted my hair (for my birthday)! I love it!
Saturday we got up and headed for the S&R egg hunt. The girls always love this. Kami got to go with the younger kids for the last time and had Ky helping her.
Ash was totally ready to go.
I was between Ash and Kami's fields taking pictures and by the time I got to Kaite's they were done. The girls all had fun though.
When we got home we set up the tramp. The girls stayed outside jumping for 4 hours....with no sunscreen, oops. Kami was a tomato when she went to bed!
We also dyed eggs.
Alyvia's egg we made her.
The girls' finished products, Ash's (top row), Kaite's (middle row), and Kami's (bottom row).
We then dumped the dye on the sled hill that was severely melted.
We made resurrection rolls and talked about the true meaning of Easter.
Sunday morning was a double whammy, my birthday and Easter.
They made me wear the princess hat, my head was too big it didn't fit!

We got up and checked out the baskets (Lyvi was having a moment) and made sure all 81 eggs were found.
Ky made bunny pancakes.
Then we TRIED to get some pictures before church.
We were late for church and never got decent pics. We did better when we got home.
Kaite still wasn't super cooperative!

Me and my cutie, a pic for the frame she made me.

I can't believe how grown up Ash is getting!
That night my family came over for dinner and cake. I got my yummy strawberry swirl cake!
I think we all had a good day, it didn't feel too much like my birthday. Ky said "maybe you won't feel older then".
Monday the girls played outside again with no sunscreen, I am not doing very well in the mother-of-the-year department!
We had a good spring break and I was sad to see them go off to school again, but hey summer will be here soon.

15 Years!

Last Thursday we celebrated our 15 year anniversary! It is hard to believe it has been 15 years (and 4 girls later), but at the same time I feel like we have been together for a lifetime. It has been a good 15 yrs and I look forward to more! That isn't saying it has always been easy, because it hasn't! We have had to work to have a good marriage that still has had its ups and downs, but more ups. I can definitely say that I love him more today than I did the day I married him! Ky planned an awesome date for us. He took me out for drinks, appetizers, dinner, and dessert all at different restaurants. We played the quarter game and flipped until we found a place to get our drinks then hopped back in the car and did it again. We had a blast! We also spent some time at Walmart playing hide-and-seek, Ky kicked my butt. But my favorite part of the date was when we went and saw "our bench" where we first met, and also walked around the temple. The weather was perfect for us, not cold like the day we got married. We really had so much fun, Ky put a lot of thought into our date and we both agree it is an anniversary we will never forget! Another great part is the gift certificate to a spa that he gave me, I am looking forward to using that! I definitely picked a good one, he is sure awesome!!!

10 Months

This past month has been a busy one for Lyvi. She hit some big milestones and is on the MOVE! She finally started crawling and is pulling herself up on EVERYTHING! She is also cruising around the furniture and has taken a couple of nasty spills. The fact that she is on the move now just means that she really is into everything. She loves to crawl over to the edge of the rug and pull off the fibers and eat them, yuk! She also has a huge fascination for wires, especially Ky's speaker wires. She has also decided that she is big enough to hold her bottle (sometimes) and her sippy cup. She loves to be independent and will only let me feed her oatmeal, she likes to feed herself everything else. She is a big eater and has a bowl of oatmeal and 1-2 muffins for breakfast or 2 full sized pancakes. She also eats at least one more BIG meal a day, but is still only 15 pounds. She is finally wearing the 6-9 month clothes, she is so small. My other girls were all at least 3 pounds bigger and into the 12 month clothes by now. It is funny how different they all are.
She loves to play ball and rolls it back to us very well. She also loves to look in the mirror and say "hi" and wave to herself. Her favorite toy is her train, she plays with it all day long. She loves to turn it on and grab the balls that come out of it.
Lyvi is still going through horrible separation anxiety but some days she will let other people hold her (very rarely). She had a massive meltdown for me a couple of weeks ago at Winco when I wouldn't give her my pen. I was sure getting some nasty looks, but we are trying to kick that tantrum thing in the butt before it gets worse. She is so fun though and we are just loving watching her personality grow.
This is what I found one day when she was suppose to be napping.
It is a good thing I had lowered her mattress!
She is so much fun and we love her so much. I can't believe she will be one in just two more months, crazy!

Another Catch up

So here is another catch up post. There has been a ton going on around here lately besides the Operetta and all of its prep.
Ash has been cross country skiing at school and a couple of weeks ago they went up to a local park in the mountains and skied 5.2 miles. She took her camera with her but used up all her battery taking pics and videos on the bus!! I think you can see how much fun she had! She said it was so pretty up there!
 Hey Natalie!
She was so sore when she got home. She promptly took over my bath tub AND my milk bath bubbles.
I also had to post this because I thought it was so cute, they videoed themselves dancing, AWESOME!
I missed muffins with mom when Lyvi had RSV. Shilo filled in for me and always sends me cute pics of the girls.
Ash, Kenadee, Shilo, and Camille
Ash and Kenadee
She also sent me this one from donuts with dad.
Last week was so warm all the snow finally melted off the driveway! We were able to pull out scooters and bikes, yay! However, they are put away again since it snowed yesterday. Ky said it was the worst white-out by far this year!
We kicked off St. Patrick's day with our green shamrock pancakes. Well we had a hard time actually getting them to look like shamrocks!
The girls had their nails painted and everything, they did not want to get pinched!
We have been keeping busy but have definitely had some fun. I have also been busy shuttling Kami to ice skating lessons, more on that later.

Kaite's Operetta

Kaite had her Operetta last Thursday and Friday, it was super cute!!! The title was "Three of a Kind". Kaite was a kitten and they danced the last two dances. They danced to Walkin on Sunshine and Bear Necessities. Here are the pics I got (can't seem to upload a video again!)
Before the 1st (Thursday) performance. I had Lyvi at this one and didn't get it videoed. She also picked the exact moment Kaite was on stage to spit up all over me!
After the first performance on stage posing, but I am sure Lark got some better pics.
These are from the Friday morning performance (2nd one).
First pic courtesy of Chantelle
She is in the back on the left
Now in front on the left
I love how high she was jumping, she had so much energy on stage (I was a little worried she would get shy). This was during their lines.
All my kittens I was suppose to watch and make sure they didn't touch their faces (that is a lot harder than it sounds!)
Friday night performance.
This is from the second dance.

 The promenade.
It really was a super cute play, I thought the costumes turned out great! I really wish I could figure out how to upload the videos.... I had fun helping the girls with their make-up and costumes, I am so glad I have the opportunity to be involved. I am glad that it is over tho, it is exhausting!
Two years before the next one! They are thinking of doing "It's a Small World".

Catch Up

Marianne had her birthday on Friday. She turned 20, she is officially not a teenager! This is her cake I made her, it is our favorite cake (I am requesting this again this year too) so yummy! Her best and biggest present this year was..... she is finally ENGAGED! Cory proposed to her the night before her birthday. Her ring is gorgeous and we are so excited for them! We have already started looking at flowers and dresses, she picked out her cake I am making her awhile ago. We are so excited for them!!!!
Congratulations Marianne and Cory!

This is what else we have been up to.
We went to the museum and saw their carousel exhibit. The girls loved this, but since we went on the free day it was packed!

We didn't know it at the time but Lyvi had RSV, all the people we exposed, ugh. And it was nap time, she was so tired.

Some of the first carousel horses.

There were some really neat older exhibits.

The girls had a ball and we learned a ton about how they started and evolved.

When we were done we came home and finished tiling the fireplace.
We still have to clean it up, grout it, and seal it. I think it turned out great, Ky did an awesome pattern! I am excited to see what it looks like when we are done.

Update: Lyvi is doing great! I think she may be over it and finally better.
Kami starts ice skating lessons tomorrow. My mom got her lessons and skates for her birthday, she is so excited!
