July

Well before July is gone I want to post what we did for the month. We spent plenty of time in the water. The girls had some good water fights.
We set up the pool and they had fun sliding down into it, Kami filled it with grass!
We finally went to the new pool. Kaite loved the lazy river. She swims underwater and uses the current to just cruise around like a sub! Kami did not like the green slide! Ash, Mar, and Ky had competitions on the rock wall. We all had fun and need to go back soon.
Ky taught Kaite how to drive the 4 wheeler. She goes so fast, but surprisingly is a very good driver. That girl likes her speed!
We celebrated Ky finishing up with finals. We went and played.
And we set off the rest of our fireworks, we never found time to finish them from the 4th, we figured this was a good reason to celebrate.
Here are two of his final projects.
He was the lead on this one and his group got 100%, of course. The TA for this class did not like Kyle because all the kids would go to him if they had a question! Kyle is now set up to be the TA next semester.
This was his other big project he did. This rendering took him 56 hours to complete, he got a 96% on this overall final project with the presentation.
He pulled A's in four of his classes and had the top grade in three of them. He didn't do as good as he wanted in calculus but he passed and doesn't have to take it again! He is all registered for next semester and we are hoping to have the basement done (except the bathroom) before he goes back, we have our work cut out for us!
Ash has had a busy summer. She has had a few parties already and last Monday she had two friends spend the night after a day at the pool. I am glad that we still have a month left before she goes back to school.
This was taken after the library party last week. I should have lots more to post after me and the girls get back from vacation.

4th of July

So for the 4th this year we went back up to the cabin. We wanted to watch the fireworks from the boat, but that didn't happen due to the fact that Ky had school Tuesday morning. There was also some sort of confusion with the lodge about when the fireworks actually were, too bad I was looking forward to it. Anyway, we headed up to the cabin and had tons of fun and excitement. We let Sam ride in the back of the Tahoe for the first time and he loved it. We spent the weekend hanging out and playing games. Scribblish turned out to be a huge hit. We have played it as a family before with the girls but that is not the same as playing with adults. We stayed up way late one of the nights, and after me and Ky went to bed we could still hear Mar and George laughing about the drawings. FYI I really am not an artist, Mar had fun trying to figure out my drawings! We also played Ticket to Ride and Monopoly Deal, George kept winning those ones.
We spent some time seeing the big fish. There were so many people there.
The girls put their feet in the river, it was so hot outside.
We made smores' one afternoon. We did this in the afternoon because the mosquitoes were terrible!
I am so glad that we found cookies without milk in them!
Mar is now brunette, again.
We also took the girls fishing. This was Kami's first time fishing and she was so excited.
Kaite was the only one who caught a fish.
He was just a little guy so we let him go.
The most exciting thing that happened to us was that there was a bat in the cabin the first night we were there. It dove for my head as we were about to start one of our games and I freaked out. I hid under the table and everyone laughed at me until Mar joined me. Daisy came so close to catching it quite a few times, thankfully, it left and we didn't see it again. However, Kami had some bad nightmares about it and ended up sleeping with us.
When we got home we had a BBQ and set off fireworks in the driveway.
Then we headed for the local show since we couldn't be out too late. It's a small show but you can show up right before it starts and still sit in the back of your truck with the show over your head.
After the fireworks we put the girls to bed and then played Just Dance 2 with Mar and George for awhile. We had a good laugh and loved watching George and Ky do the Rasputin song!
We had a fun weekend, it was good to get away for awhile. I think Ky needed the break from school, finals week is next week and he has been super busy with all his final projects and presentations.
**Happy Birthday James!**

June Wrap Up

Okay so the blog has gotten very neglected lately, just like my house! I think I only got one June post in and now it is time to post about the 4th and the fireworks, that will come later. I thought I would just do a June wrap up and call it good.
I honestly can't believe June is gone already we were so busy, but seriously where did it go! We finished up with swim lessons weeks ago and I am relieved. The girls did awesome and both of them passed off their levels. Ash is now a level 6 and Kaite a 4. They learned so much during their last two weeks of lessons. Kaite is diving now and Ash has become quite the swimmer. Ash spent the two weeks swimming laps and working on technique. Her last lesson was spent racing the level 6 class. She did awesome and I wish I would have gotten her crawl stroking she even beat the boy she was racing. We all enjoyed cheering for her! Their instructors said they will miss both of them so much, we love their swim program!

We have also been using our bowling and movie summer passes. We have had so much fun with this and even had Mar join us one afternoon. Kami loves to bowl and usually breaks 100. Kaite is awesome at it and always breaks a 110. Me and Ash always round off the bottom 2 but we have fun doing it! Here are a few pics.
We have been riding the carousel. This is Kami's favorite horse.
Kaite got her hair cut. She has wanted a pixie cut for a long time and I finally gave in, but we did do a compromise and got a "party pixie".
She loves it and we think she looks so cute!
We also went to a ward party and Kaite enjoyed scaring the other kids with a dead snake..... oh Kaite. We got to see our new nephew and I got some of my baby fix holding him! He is so cute! Congrats Missy and Briant! We went to the drive in and saw Cars 2, the girls loved it! We clebrated Father's day. I think Ky is the best dad ever!
The girls have loved playing with the dogs. Daisy is such a good dog.
I can finally tell Kaite yes when she asks "is it summer yet?" We are loving the warmer weather. The garden is looking great and I hope we can have the peppers and tomatoes in the ground this week!
Ash spent her allowance money and bought Just Dance 2 last week. We have ALL been enjoying it and staying up late playing it. Mar and George even got in on the fun this weekend. I had the cutest video of the girls dancing to Barbie but it was too big to load, bummer.
I forgot to mention before that when we received Kaite's report card her teacher had included a reading sheet that showed Kaite has passed off all the kindergarten and 1st grade words. She knows all the 2nd grade words but 4, and all the 3rd grade words but 6. Way to go Kaite, she is such an awesome reader!
I think that about wraps up June now hopefully I can keep up with July!
