Day of Firsts

Yesterday was a day of firsts. It was Ashley's first day of first grade! I was not ready for her to go back so soon. Ashley was so excited. We found her still up at 1030 the night before and then up yesterday at 630. She was so tired last night! She had so much fun at school. She met two new girls and almost all of her friends are in her class. Mrs. Steele is going to have her hands full! I am glad she loves school and has been counting down the days for the past month!

Kyle gave Kaitlyn her first piano lesson yesterday while Ashley was at school. Kaitlyn is so excited to be able to play. I think she still might be too young, but we will see how she picks it up. Kaitlyn was also excited for Ash to start school, she loves her mom time.

We also planted our first fruit tree. We picked a macintosh apple. We both love those. We already have a ton of crab apples that were previously planted, yuk! We would like to take the North end of our property and plant a little orchard. I think we may try to get one more tree planted this year. We need to see how they do up here.

We had quite a few unintentional firsts yesterday. Kyle pointed them all out when we were planting the tree. It was a fun day and I am glad the weather cooperated a bit. Life is good!
