One of those days

It has been one of those days. You know the kind when you haven't slept well for the past two nights, even though you spent yesterday running around town and trying to find costume stuff (including a trip to winco) while trying to make it to the orthodontist on time! When you are on the phone with the doctors office telling them that Lyvi's dosage is just right and she pukes everywhere even out her nose, nope going to need to up her dosage. You have to go to the store twice (once during nap time) because you forgot to get everything the first time! You have to deal with the library and their ridiculous fees ($5 for a book one day late) because they "only check the drop box in the morning". And almost getting stuck in your driveway because you didn't realize it was blowing and were going to slow and had it in 2wd. But the best part is the older two aren't even home yet!!!!
Thank goodness for crock-pot at least dinner is done!

Kaite's Gymnastics Meet

A couple of weeks ago Kaite had her first gymnastics competition. This was the real thing with six other gyms coming in from around the area, there were so many kids! They split the meet up into two days and then into 5 different divisions. Kaite had 76 other girls competing in her time slot, it was a long meet but fun. She was so nervous but did great for her first one. She was miffed at me for forgetting to put glitter on her face....
Showing me her judges salute.
Since I videoed everything these are the snapshots of the video and are a little blurry.
She was up on bars first, she completed all her skills and didn't fall off once (a lot of other girls fell).
Then she was up on beam, she keeps her lines very clean and always has her toes pointed. She didn't fall off here either and most of the girls were, but you could tell she was super nervous.
Then floor, these pics didn't turn out as well, but this is her walk-over, toes still pointed. She completed her floor routine with her hair bow bouncing around and eventually falling out but she didn't let it distract her, stupid bow she doesn't have enough hair to keep it in but wanted to look like the other girls.
Since there were too many people and judges in the way I didn't get a clear shot of her vault. It really amazes me how much power she has for an eight year old. Her vaults were amazing and she scored an 8.5 on them, the average was in the 7's. I can't remember the rest of her scores, but nothing below a 7 on the other apparatuses.
Goofing around waiting for scores to come in.
She received her trophy and got three white ribbons and a red (for her vaults), way to go Kaite! I was watching her scores and she scored pretty high even higher than the older girls (they had them broke down by age too).
Posing with some teammates, ignore the place numbers they were just shooting a pic.
She loves her trophy and I am so proud of her. Next year when she jumps up to the real team she gets the long sleeve leo and the matching warm-up suit with her name on it. I thought these leos were so cute though! She did awesome and I am really impressed with how she is progressing, and check out her muscles on her arms!

After the meet we went to Costa Vida for some of their awesome nachos, Kaite LOVED them! Me and Ky found out it was nice to be out with just the older two, it was a big change.

8 Months

Lyvi is 8 months old today, I really can't believe it! She is getting just so cute! I love this picture of her above, she has the cutest face. Lyvi is up to 15.8 pounds, this is such an improvement. Lyvi has always been on the smaller side. She was in the 10th percentile at her six month visit, but when I took her in for another visit she had dropped down to the 2nd percentile and lost a pound. She is a huge eater she has progressed very quickly. Lyvi loves real food and is at the point that she is eating everything from the table, woohoo no more baby food. Thursday she had chicken pot pie, pears, and stuffing mix with us. Her dexterity has really improved and she can pick up food off her tray or out of my fingers with her thumb and pointer finger. She loves to eat what we are eating, she loves banana muffins and green beans (real ones not baby food from a jar). So she has a very healthy appetite, but she has had problems keeping it down. I took her in two weeks ago, I was just so sick of all the vomiting. He said she had reflux which is something we already knew but hoped she would grow out of. He put her on some zantac and reglan and the first three days we didn't have any vomiting it was so nice! Since then we have had to increase her dosages but it seems to be working since she has put on almost two pounds! She is starting to look so chunky I love it.
She is also talking up a storm. She waves and says hi. She says "more", "baba" for bottle, "dada", and finally "mama". She also signs drink and food. She is just so stinkin cute and loves her family. Her separation anxiety has gotten really bad, she cries when I leave the room. She still loves to be in her walker and is getting into stuff. She grabbed my vase and threw it on the floor one day, it didn't break. She will also watch us over her shoulder and when we aren't looking she goes for my plant, she likes to eat it. We have had to fashion a blockade so she can't get to it. Now that she isn't vomiting when she leans over she loves to be on the floor now and is starting to think about crawling, I give her a couple of weeks. She is the best sleeper, she takes a 3 1/2 to 4 hour nap during the day and sleeps 11-13 hours at night! I think she is getting her top teeth although she acts like she is getting molars the way she chews on everything. I can't believe she is already eight months old, she is growing up fast. We love her so much!!!
Check out her cute teeth below.

Update

Okay since Christmas we have been extremely busy catching up on everything that got pushed back cause of the holidays, but we have had tons of fun too.
While the girls were home we busted out the sled and Lyvi got her first ride on a snowmobile. She seemed to like it, but she was more interested in Sam then actually sledding.
Kami loved every minute of it and bugs us daily about getting it out again.
This is a scary sight! Already trying to drive like the speed demon she is (Kaite)!
Throwing snow, silly girl.
After a couple of times out they learned a few new tricks. Now they are using my ski goggles to ride, I know these aren't pics with the goggles haven't gotten any of those yet.
Ky took the girls out for a night time ride last week and him and Kami saw the porcupine walking around (more on him later) it has been all she can talk about and she will never forget it. She was the only one who liked the night time riding, Kaite got too cold and Ash wouldn't even go.
Kami modeling one of her new Christmas outfits.
The girls like to sled down the little hill Ky made them with the snow blower, they had all three of them on the sled in this pic.
My new kitchen faucet Ky installed. The other one just started leaking all of a sudden and lots too so this is a belated Christmas present(?).
Gorgeous sunrise.
Ash was student of the day and wanted to take a pic of Sam to school, look how big he has gotten!
We rang in the New Year watching the ball drop. We were watching it live EST on the computer and our connection got slow or something and it went from 16 seconds to "Happy New Year", Kaite was devastated! This was her first year staying up to watch the ball drop and she was so excited, thank goodness for you tube!
Ash has been having fun with her camera. She took pics and video of the ball dropping.
She has also been taking pics and videos of her and her friends.
Kenadee
And one of the best new years presents....Lily came for a visit. The girls got to spend the day together. They ate lunch at Stacey's (one of the best teachers ever) and went sledding/snowmobiling all afternoon. I had a nice visit with Lori (it was so good to see her) and we are hoping they can move back after her husband graduates next August!
It has been super crazy but we have been having some fun, and really making sure that happens. Ky started back at school three weeks ago (11weeks to go). He was able to get on fast grad and will definitely graduate in December with both degrees. So far this semester seems much better than previous ones, he still has 18 credits but the classes are better. The next two semesters are only 12 and 13 credit semesters, but he has to take 14 to get his scholarships. We set it up so he is able to work full time (hopefully with the city) and finish up school. Also, I have started tax stuff (always a headache) and I am helping with Kaite's operetta, but this time I stuck with costumes. I would have loved to have choreographed another dance but with Ky in school and the baby there is no way I have time to do that. Kaite had her first gymnastics meet last weekend which will be one of my next posts and Lyvi is 8 months on Saturday. Always something to do....

*****I forgot to add how things really do come in threes. I have always known this and it is completely true, I saw it time and time again at the hospital codes always come in threes, and you never have just one crashing patient it is always three. Anyways, before Christmas it was my vacuum, then the faucet, and finally my fuel pump in my Tahoe (on New Year's eve). So we should be good right? Except that when the furnace was being serviced a couple of weeks ago we found out it was recalled due to the heat exchange spontaneously getting holes in it my response was "well that's not what you want". So on Monday we got a new furnace, but since we are on a weatherization program they did it for free!!! Can't beat that. The new one has more btu's and is half the size, the other one was huge with a cast iron bottom. This new one is also super quiet, the old one sounded like our house was going to take flight!! So does that count towards the threes?? I really hope not.

Christmas 2012

I can't believe how long it has taken me to get this post together. I was hoping after the holidays things would slow down some, but that hasn't really happened. So here it is the 2012 Christmas post.
Santa came and visited (Santa was on a very tight budget this year but everyone seemed happy).
For Lyvi and Ash
Kaite and Kami
Santa even brought us some stuff too.
And Ky's parents too
Kaite loved her red barbie car
Ash got lots of girly stuff, including make-up and a design kit but especially her earmuffs (Santa must shop at Justice too!)
Kami didn't really care about anything but her Strawberry shortcake bean bag

Lyvi loved her bear
Ky showing off Ash's earmuffs
After we finished with the Santa gifts we ate our traditional cinnamon rolls and then the girls separated all the presents downstairs.
Pictures this year were interesting and part of the reason it has taken me so long to do this post. We had three cameras taking pics because Ky's parents were here and my good camera was charging, so I had tons to choose from.
In no particular order.
Kami really wanted Hungry Hungry Hippos, she was so excited.
Here are some more pics from the morning.
Grandpa's glasses are so fascinating!
Kami got a couple of Dollie and Me outfits.
new shoes, and showing them off

Lyvi's Christmas outfit, one side wings the other side says "Christmas angel"
Everyone got books
Lyvi had more fun unwrapping the presents and eating them than anything else!
She loved her new hairdryer
Ky got Monopoly mega edition. We have had fun playing this, Ky and the girls are finishing a game right now (I lost!)
I got Lyvi a sleep sack, which I love!!! I bought this to keep her clothes and diaper on her (I am not a paranoid parent who got this to substitute blankets!) so far the diapers have stayed on and she has only managed to get her jammies off twice while in this!
More Knex
New Leos!
For our big presents this year Ky got me a Klim coat, love it!
I got him a watch.
Lyvi got a cute set of toys, she loves elephants.
Kami strawberry shortcake dolls
Kaite a CD player, she loves plugging in her MP3 and also listening to books on CD
Ash got a purple camera, it took her a minute to realize what it was since she didn't read the box!
Here are some of the funny shots of the day, mostly my favorite faces.
After our morning of greed we headed upstairs for some crock pot breakfast. We then spent the rest of the day playing games, watching movies, and skyping with my family in SC. We had so much fun! Unfortunately, Ky's parents missed all of it since they left and headed to Chris and Chantelle's.
Later that night the girls slept under the tree downstairs, I really loved having a tree down there it was soooo nice.
We had a very nice Christmas, I don't think the girls realized how much of a budget we were on, I found some awesome deals online. We will see what next year brings, Ky will be graduated and hopefully we will still be here with a completely finished basement!
