Bliss

I sit here listening to the quiet of my children sitting at the table coloring, but the thing I enjoy the most is the smell. I can smell the fresh rain mixed with the wonderful scent of cake cooking. I am baking all the cakes for Ashley's birthday, so for the day my house we be delightfully yummy. It is ugly gloomy gray outside, but my house is cozy and I feel like wrapping in a blanket and sipping hot cocoa all day. However, my priority today is making all her cakes so I can freeze them tonight and shape them tomorrow. Oh how I have fallen for that blond haired blue-eyed beauty. I would do anything for her, and for her two sisters who have the same effect on me. Marianne called me "the ultimate mom" the other day, something about all the work I was doing for Ash's birthday and then asked me if I "will still go to all this trouble when they are seventeen and don't want it"? My response "of course" truth be told they have me wrapped around their fingers and I would do ANYTHING for them, I think they know it too! For today I am enjoying my own piece of bliss.

More Boating

So, we took what we think will be our last boating trip for the year yesterday. We had tons of fun and the weather was awesome, I am sporting quite the burn to prove it! Here are the pics.
Marianne on the wakeboard
George on the wakeboard, I didn't get Ky on the board and nobody got me attempting the board.
Ky wearing Marianne's sunglasses, doesn't he look pretty!
The girls
Ash on the tube, keeping her feet out of the water so the piranhas don't bite her toes!
Me and Kami on the tubeMar and Kami
Kaite on the tube
Kaite and Ash on the tube together
Marianne and George on the tube, they had quite the wild ride!
George on the tube, he ended up with a bloody nose after this hit.

And Marianne wiping out!
The scary snake we saw in the water.
George on the slalom. He got up and skied for the first time.
Ky on the slalom, and showing some leg!
We had a fun day. I wish I could have gotten up on the wakeboard, the water was so cold and rough. The girls had so much fun and I look forward to hitting the water next year, and if the weather is nice maybe one more time this year! George and Kyle both had the worst wipe outs of the day, we are all feeling them today!

Weekend Fun

We had more fun this past weekend. Friday me and Kami headed down to the homecoming parade and caught up with the girls with their classes.
Cali and Ashley
Kaite with her class
Kami had fun
Then that night we headed out to the sand dunes with Mahon and Cindy. We made smores' and did some star gazing and saw some shooting stars. Kami enjoyed dumping sand on herself all night. The girls brought home half the dunes with them.
We headed back up to the reservoir on Saturday. This time the boat was fixed properly and ran great. We had so much fun despite the weather. We had heavy rain at times and warm sunshine at others, the best part we had most of the water to ourselves.
Kami on her first tube ride
George and Kami getting out of the rain
Ash had a ball
Kaite loved to tube
This was how she pouted when she had to get out
And then back in the water again
Ash chillin
Down in the cabin staying dry
Ky enjoyed himself and got tossed once
George gets the prize for the roughest ride. At one point he got tossed around like a rag doll but held on, we were impressed!
Riding backwards
Here are some other fun pics.
Kami has been stealing Kaite's backpack everyday after school so I finally pulled out the smaller one we have. She wears this thing constantly!
Kaite took this photo of me and Kami
And Kami took this one of me and Kaite. We also got some other shots of feet and stuff, but once she figured it out she took some pretty good pics.
We had a fun weekend and I am hoping that we can get back out on the water one or two more times before it gets cold, and do more than tube!

Baptism Photos

Last week we went and took baptism photos for the invitations, which I am hoping to get out today. I do still have the task of picking one to go on the wall and the blog. Here are some of our favorites.
Classic Ashley
This one is Ky's favorite.
glaring at dad
I love this face!
Stylin'This one is my favorite, except she looks so much older.
I think this might be the one I put on the wall.
Ky and I have different tastes, but I think we got some real cute ones to work with. I still can't believe my baby is going to be 8! She is getting so big. Now I need current photos of Kami and Kaite.
Yesterday was our (me and Kami) first day alone while the girls were at school. She is a very good 2 year old. I got tons of stuff done and she just helped me all day.
