Hog Roast

So, we went to the annual hog roast tonight. The food is always excellent. They roast a pig in the ground for like two days, the meat is awesome. We also have homemade ice cream. We really enjoy this tradition. This year we managed to sit at a table- sort of. So, here is Kyle kickin back and Hanna copying him. She pulled her chair over and propped her feet up just like him. It was so cute. She is such a cutie, but Jen and I have decided that the most mischievous ones always are.
We also came home with a ton of sand from the sandbox. Thanks Kaitlyn! I should have taken a picture of the bathtub. We could have started our own sandbox in the bathroom!

Seriously Upset!

This is what happens when I take a shower. It is the end of the world when you can't keep your eye on mom. It takes about 15 minutes to recover from this.

Swimming!

So, we went swimming tonight for FHE. Jen and Brody reserved the pool. So, we had it all to ourselves. This was Kami's first time swimming and she loved it. Ashley also conquered her fear of the slide. This is the same slide that she fell off last year. We also had fun diving off the board. But I think we just all enjoyed being with our friends and family.

Green Eggs and Ham

Today Ashley finished reading me Green Eggs and Ham. She has been reading it to me over the past two days. Yes, that is right she has been reading it to me. She needed a little help, but got through the book. This is the first book she has read and mom is super proud! Way to go Ashley!

Splash Park

So, we went to the splash park after gymnastics today. The weather was warm but the water was cold. Kaity braved it twice and gave up. Ashley had fun running to the slide then coming back to warm up. After that we went to my parents' for dinner and Kaitlyn attempted to knock out her bottom teeth. Thankfully, she did not succeed. She just chipped a tooth and has a few loose ones. There was a lot of blood and tears though. But we did end on a good note, even though the day was quite traumatic.

A new baby!

We have a new baby! We have switched to the sensitive formula, and tada. It turns out she is lactose intolerant, nothing to jump for joy about. But now she is happy and content. I am actually getting things done around the house. And the big news, she is sleeping through the night! Wow, nine weeks of unnecessary fussiness, all we needed was different formula. Lesson learned.

Four, Three, Two, One..

We have done it. We are down to one kitten! And it is a boy! We gave the last one away this afternoon. No more kittens for us. We are back down to three cats and one dog- still too many animals for my taste. The girls did very well. I was worried, but everything went smooth. However, now they are asking me about a fish. Kyle seems to think that since we live in the boonies we should have tons of animals. NO! Who gets to take care of all the critters? I am okay with the cats, they are pretty self sufficient. The dog is somewhat high maintenance, but everything else... So, we will not be bothering any of you anymore about taking a kitten. What a happy day!
