Museum Visit

We are so lucky that even though we live in a small community we still have some great opportunities. The local museum has really been striving to bring in some awesome exhibits, and they have done well. We have loved the t-rex, Titanic, bodies, and now King Tut exhibits. Sadly we missed the dead sea scrolls, but we will go to the Christmas exhibit in the next few weeks. I was worried we were going to miss this exhibit, but we made it with just two days to spare. Gene came with us and we all had a ball. Kami attached herself to Gene and insisted on holding HIS hand and no one else's, too funny. I took a ton of pics and these are our faves (fyi you can't use a flash so some came out blurry).

This is what Lyvi did most of the time.
I grossed the girls out when I told them what these were for!
Look inside
Ash thought there was a real mummy in here and did not want to get too close!
*I found out last night that it was Kaite that told Ash about the mummy, Kaite had a good laugh!
Upper view
The girls thought this was really King Tut in here! They were pretty mortified!
Family shot
We had so much fun! The exhibit was really cool, Kami was the one that was the most excited to see it. We did pick a busy time to go but it was well worth it. There were so many neat facts, the girls learned a lot about the Egyptians and their history. I can't wait to see what else the museum brings in.
Oh and something funny: turns out I saw this exhibit before in Denver and totally forgot! I remembered when James brought up that fact!

Too bad I didn't post this at 12:12.

Happy 8th Birthday Kaitlyn!!

Kaite turned 8 last Friday. I can't believe it has been 8 years since she was born. She has been counting the days down until her big day. She was so excited and woke us up so early to open presents, and check out her hair!
new jewelry (including soccer earrings and a monkey ctr necklace)

 mood nail polish
 new scripture carrier
new scriptures

 books
 and her big present
knex, we are still putting it together but it is fun.
since we couldn't put her candle in her dinosaur oatmeal she got a pastry with a candle in it
all decked out in her new stuff (with no crazy hair) headed off to school
 more presents

and dinner at Craigo's, they brought out her cookie monster while I was busy and so it was all but gone by the time we sang to her.
 Chelsea, so cute!
 silly girls
 even more presents
Chantelle made Kaite the cutest bracelet.
Saturday we had her friends party, she had four friends over and they were crazy!
They played games and had so much fun.
 cupcakes
silly kids, poor Eli was the only boy again, but he doesn't seem to mind
 presents from friends

She had a great couple of days. Next weekend is her baptism, another big day.
She picked out her dress and loves it. A few of her baptism pictures, my favorites.

The dress laces up in the back.
And my favorite picture of all, this was the last one I took.
Kaite is so cute. She is our ball of fire that keeps us on our toes. She has the spunkiest personality ever, but she is also so sweet. Kaite is our athletic girl, she wants to take karate now.... she is so fun. Kaite can make me laugh like no one else. Our house would not be the same without her around!
Happy 8th birthday Kaite! We love you so much!

Thanksgiving 2012

It was our year with Ky's family. Chris and Chantelle hosted dinner and since we were so close we were able to visit with both our families. We got to see James, the girls were so excited! They played with him and wore him out! We got to spend a few days with him it was nice, but he won't be back until it's warm out.
Kami wore her outfit she made at preschool.

Gene came and stayed with us for a few nights. The girls had fun tormenting him and he tormented them!
Gene and Chelsea
 Chantelle's table looked awesome!
Lyvi enjoyed her first Thanksgiving, eating her bib.
Like father like daughter! (can't figure out how to get these to stay side-by-side)
 Silly!
The only pic of the turkey, already carved. I haven't been so great about getting pics, maybe cause I am busy with the kiddos! Anyway, I rely on others to steal my camera and take them for me!!!
The food was awesome, the turkey turned out fabulous, but my favorite is the desert! Cindy made a banana cream pie that I just couldn't resist, it was so good. We also had apple pie, cheesecake (my famous awesome recipe), and I made a caramel-pumpkin mousse tart with a pecan crumble.... for Ash- she loves her pumpkin pie.
Mahon, Cindy, and baby girl crashed after dinner.
We enjoyed some puzzles and games and ate cheese-balls!
It was a good Thanksgiving. We had so much fun, we have so much to be thankful for. It was nice to see Ky and spend some time as a family (only 2 more weeks of school!!!).

After dinner and fun me and my mom hit the sales- don't know if I will ever do that again!!!! Fortunately, I was all but done with my shopping so not much disappointment when we didn't get what we wanted. Those shoppers are crazy!!
