Another Big Catch Up

Well it's time to post another long catch up.This is what we have been doing for the last week and a half.
Two weekends ago we spent some fun playing in the water.
Bathing Daisy after she got sprayed by that darn skunk. We think we got that darn skunk, but now another one that smells worse is lingering around. In case you are wondering we are using a mix of dish soap, hydrogen peroxide, and baking soda. We found a recipe online that works pretty good. She still slept in the garage for a few days.
We spent some time at the carousel and got snow cones.
The day before school was suppose to start we cut our braids out, went to see How To Train Your Dragon, had ice cream, and found out we got another week of summer. Since the pipes at the school broke and the computers crashed, they decided to give the kids another week, yay!
We also spent some time with George and James. George just got back from London and brought us some neat stuff.
He also brought me sand for my jar. Harriet's sister Bethen sent some cute outfits back for the girls. I don't know why I didn't get a pic of Kami. Her and Kaite both got Peppa Pig shirts, they look so cute.
We also hung out at the block party my family hosted. Kami found these boots in her shoe pile and now wants to wear them all the time.
Saturday we made a quick trip down to Utah for Sydney's 13th birthday party.
Cole and Kami had tons of fun.
Taylor "caked" Sydney
And Sean "caked" Ashley
Gene had to show us his bike.
And here is the hat we got Sydney. Kami loved it.
It was a good trip, long but good. We had a good visit and Taylor showed me pics of all the dresses for the wedding, the cake, bouquet, and the flower girls dresses. Kaite gets to be a flower girl and she is so excited! Ash will do the book and presents. Kami is going to try not to destroy anything!
Sunday after church I found this! Can I ask "why!" it was completely stuck on her head, funniest thing though!
Then Monday the girls finally started school!
Kaite was so excited to go, I don't think she hardly slept the night before. Sporting her new shorter haircut. Erin came back from Florida and was able to squeeze us in before school started. She was so excited she just walked right into the room and sat down, completely ignoring Mrs. Goebel saying hi to her. She rode the bus home and had a great day.
All of Ash's friends are in her class, I feel sorry for her teacher! She is loving 2nd grade so far. Ash also got some exciting news a couple of weeks ago, she is moving up to pre-team in gymnastics! This means that in Jan and Feb she will get the chance to compete at a couple of meets. She will be training harder, longer, and learning more routines. Way to go Ashley!
I think that wraps up the last week and a half. We did also take baptism pics (separate post later), went to Island Park a few times, and attempted to go boating. Two Saturdays ago we finally got the boat on the water only to have it overheat and start fire. It is now back in the shop and should be done this week so we can attempt to go again this weekend. Also, Kaite had her two cavities filled yesterday with no shots just gas. Kaite was so brave and held perfectly still. Two cavities in 20 minutes, I love our dentist! That was a long post and I still have baptism pics to post later.

Yellowstone and Camping

This past week we have made two trips to Yellowstone. The first we went with Chris and Chantelle, we actually spent the weekend up in Island Park at the cabin. Saturday we went and saw Old Faithful and some animals. I saw my first bear in the park EVER! We saw a mom and two cubs (Chris got a better pic than me) but look close and you can see the cubs.
Old Faithful. Kami enjoyed pointing at it.
We stopped and got ice cream, this is Kami's version.
The girls didn't like the other steam geysers, it was windy.
When we got back the boys took the girls fishing. They caught quite a few but only kept five. Ash caught the biggest one we've ever seen come out of that river.
Ash didn't like holding it this way, she could feel it's teeth.
Later we made smores.
This is what Kami looked like when we were done.
Sunday we got up and took the dogs to the river. This was Sam's first time in the water and he did good. He had to "help" Esau bring the sticks back to shore. Poor Daisy is getting old and she tires quickly, Ky had to hold her out of the water for some of the time.
Us girls tried to stay out of the splash zone.
We had a good weekend and the girls enjoyed getting really dirty.
Then on Wednesday we headed back up to the park with my mom. We made the upper loop and stopped at some sights along the way.
The paint pots
The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone
Silly girls!
The petrified tree. This was Ky's highlight. He really wanted to see it. There use to be three, but due to tourists there is just one left, sad.
Kami says "stinky paint pots"
It was a beautiful drive
Mammoth Hot springs
Roaring mountain
Kami's "favorite orange moose". Orange is her favorite color and she just loved this moose, Ky bought it for her.
We have had fun enjoying the last little bit of summer.
We have tomatoes growing in the garden now. This was the first one we had, we have had more since. Things are really starting to grow and harvest now.

School shopping

We have been busy getting ready for school. School starts next week. I can't believe that summer is gone! I feel like they just got out. We have a list of things we never got done, and a longer list of stuff we have been doing in just the past two weeks! Anyway, we have had fun shopping for new clothes. Chantelle even came with us one day, poor girl I think we wore her out! I will say that I was completely surprised by all the 80's stuff that is back in. I say that if I wore it my kids shouldn't! And I think I saw one of the outfits I wore my first day! This did present a challenge for finding tennis shoes, which we didn't. I could only find the bright converse style shoes in Sketchers. I buy the girls Sketchers because 1. they last and 2. they are wide enough for Kami and Kaite to wear, those girls have fat feet! We are still going to hit the outlet stores with Taylor when we visit. The girls have their backpacks and stuff and are ready. We even hit the dentist, Ash is cavity free, Kaite two cavities, bummer. I am kind of ready too, but don't tell them!
Here are a few of our finds.
I had to throw this pic in here. Isn't he cute! This is Lincoln and he is the happiest baby EVER! We watched him the other day while Becca and Addy went to a mother/daughter thing. He is awesome, the best baby ever!I have more catch up to post later, if I ever get to it! Our camping trip and two trips to Yellowstone.
