Here is what our crazy life has looked like lately.
A couple of weeks ago the mobile finally got moved! This was such a good day, it was a long 3 years of waiting! Our yard is so much bigger now and we don't have to stare at that ugly thing anymore! Honestly, I wasn't sure if it was ever going to happen and it took them a lot longer than they said it would. At one point the front half looked like it was going to tip over onto our deck due to the mud it sunk in. There was quite the mess when it left. There are still lots of pipes and stuff we have to deal with, but I will take that any day over the mobile being there.

We finally got the basement carpet in and the girls moved into their rooms!
Here is Kaite's room.
Here is Kaite's room.
Ash's room.
Living room, complete with dimming lights and built in nightlights. Also, it is wired for a sound system.
I guess I should really post some before and after pics. The basement really was such a nightmare! I still can't believe all the work we have done and how close we are to being done. Hopefully, we can get the bathroom done this winter, then that's it.
Getting the carpet in was not an easy process though. Chad had asked us if we wanted to try a new product which glues the tack strips down instead of nailing them. Ky had it all set up and everything glued when Chad got here on Monday. Well problem number one arised when they were cutting the carpet. It turns out the carpet place shorted us 1.5 yards, even though it said 76 yards and we paid for the whole 76 yards. Well we knew there wasn't going to be enough to finish all the stairs, but they have more in stock it is just cut from a different stock so the color may be a touch different, no biggie really. Problem number two started when they tried to stretch the carpet. The tack strips came up, the glue didn't hold at all. Problem number three happened when Ky tried to nail the strips down, our concrete is so crappy it would just crumble! So we had to use construction adhesive and then nail them down, this took a couple of days to dry. Needless to say, the carpet didn't get stretched until last Saturday and because Chad had to work Ky stretched it. What a pain! And I left out one of the best parts. Wednesday morning Ash came up and said the carpet in the room they were in was wet. Turns out the water filter was leaking and for who knows how long. So after we moved Ash and Kaite into their rooms on Saturday we had to pull up the carpet in Kami's room. That carpet is now dry and Ky is going to re-kick it tonight. We are hoping to have her in this week so we can repaint the baby's room and set it up on Saturday. Then we still have to get the doors and put them on. We will do the trim this summer when Ky is on break. We will be finishing it ourselves so we have to wait for warmer weather.
I am glad it is just finally in! The girls love their rooms, but Ash has been having a hard time sleeping by herself. She keeps asking Kami if she wants to have a slumber party. I thought Kaite would be the one that would have problems adjusting, but nope she loves having her own space!
After all the room swapping is done we have to start on the window wells and landscaping. It is really going to be a busy summer, not to mention we are having a baby really soon!!
In other news the city offered Ky a job. The last week he was finishing up his internship they talked to him and want to keep him on. We are so happy with this because he is getting some really good experience, plus he can probably bump up to full time during his time off this summer. Maybe they will offer him a permanent position when he graduates....
Ky started school last week while we were going through the carpet crisis! I don't think the semester started off the way he wanted, crazy, but he really likes his classes.
This last Sunday I had a WHAT moment. One of the boys in Ash's primary class (he has a huge crush on her) made her an origami rose. I can't remember how old I was when I first got a flower from a boy but I know I was older than 9!! It was cute though, and he is a good boy.
