Rockin and Rollin

James was rockin and rollin in the earthquake today. He sent me this pic of his door. And yes this is a new crack.

Summer is almost over

You know summer is ending when all the programs start ending. We had the summer reading program party today. The girls received gum balls and popsicles. WOW, you should have seen Kaitlyn. She was covered in red popsicle. They had fun and we can't wait until next year. Now our focus turns to school.

Reading program

We finish up with the reading program this Tuesday. This year they have had some really neat prizes. Ashley received a sudoku puzzle book this last week. Who knew they made those for kids. She had all 28 puzzles done before dinner. She loved it! Now where do I find more?? As a side note school starts in less than 4 weeks.

Milk, milk, and more milk!

This is what we come home with when we grocery shop. My dad thinks it is funny that we have three different kinds of milk in the fridge. We have the fat free for me, lactose free for Kaitlyn, lactose free formula for Kami, and the whole for Kyle and Ashley. You have to be careful what you are grabbing. Seriously, you should see the looks the checkers give me. Who knew we would have two lactose intolerant children! We still may have to switch Kami over to Soy. I will know more when those teeth finally come in.

Painless

That was pretty easy. I finally installed my software and downloaded my pics from our new camera. I thought it would be harder, but not bad at all.

What did I sign up for!!!

Okay, so I know we have all had one of those days. Those days when you know you should not get out of bed. I have had many lately, but today was by far the worst. I was never one of those girls that aspired to be a "stay at home mom". That phrase never, and I mean never, came out of my mouth growing up. I was the girl that was going to school to get her masters, maybe PhD. I was going to make something of myself and never get married or have kids. So, what am I doing here??? I have been asking myself that most of the day. Between the non stop crying (Kami is teething) and the hair pulling and toy throwing, not to mention the barn. I am really missing the ICU right now. I miss the beeping monitors and the constant chaos and even those cranky doctors, but mostly the break. The break from my real life and the stresses with it. I enjoy these brief quiet moments at night when everyone is in bed, but I know it is all going to start again tomorrow. Maybe it is the months of sleepless nights, or maybe it is just a very bad day, all I know is that it has got to get better tomorrow. Thank goodness for my crazy husband that puts things into perspective and tells me to "wake up and stop being so selfish, that we have a pretty good thing going here". He helps keep me grounded to reality as I am wondering "why didn't I go to BYU Hawaii and sit on the beach". So, even though the day was a bummer, as the night wears down and my girls give me goodnight hugs and kisses things are looking up. I never thought I would be where I am today, but I am. And believe it or not, most days I do enjoy it.

Gone Digital

So, we did it. We broke down and bought a digital camera. I do owe Devin and Julie a big thanks. We had it narrowed down to four cameras, two of which I didn't like. I liked this one and a Sony, which was too big upon further investigation. So, my pick was this one. Well, Kyle liked two other Cannons better, but they had the big side handle. I didn't like that feature. I wanted one that would fit in my pocket. Well, it turns out that Devin and Julie have this same camera. Once Kyle saw it and got to use it, he was sold. So, a big thanks to Devin and Julie for helping me out on this one. Oh, and once I figure out how to get the pictures to my computer I will post some.

Riot Zone

I have been so busy I forgot to post our trip to Riot Zone. Saturday night we headed there with Chris and Chantelle. We had so much fun. Everyone enjoyed the bumper boats and go karts. I am proud to say that Chantelle kicked butt in the race and beat those boys by at least half a lap. After the Riot Zone we headed over to Beaver Dick Park for some very legal fireworks! We had so much fun and enjoyed seeing Chantelle one more time before she heads back to Canada. We hope to see her again real soon, but will be missing her in the mean time.

3 Months Old

Kami is three months old today. She is getting so big. She started laughing at us this morning. Last week she started rolling over and she is really trying to sit up. I can't believe how much she has grown.

Wedding cake

So, I made Missy's wedding cake on Thursday. Now I do not have a big powerful mixer, in the past we do what we can and end up hand mixing the fondant. Well, Kyle got creative this time. He pulled out his drill and stuck my mixer attachment in the end. It worked pretty well and I had a good laugh out of it. It is amazing how creative you can get at midnight.

An Ode to James

Happy Birthday! James turns 21 today! Wow, do I feel old. Since he is in California this is my birthday shout. He is living blocks from this beautiful beach, and I am sooo jealous! He bought a car for his birthday and is partying I am sure. He is living it up out there, baseball games, Jimmy Kimmell. Have fun James. We miss you!

Wedding number 1

Missy and Briant

Missy and all the nieces.

Julie and Missy

Chris and Chantelle

Mahon and Kami
Kyle and Gene

Well, one down and two to go. Missy and Briant got married yesterday and it was awesome. The luncheon was very good. And the reception was a blast. We enjoyed seeing all our friends and family and even got to see Gene, it was suppose to be a surprise. We really enjoyed decorating the car, and enjoyed watching them get into it even more. We had a good day and are so happy for the newlyweds! The girls had so much fun playing with their cousin and watching the fish. It is always sad to see everyone go, but only for six weeks. Then we will do it again!

Under Construction

So, I found a cute background that I like. Now, I have to fix everything else. Please be patient with me while I work on it. I also picked the best time to mess with it. I have a wedding cake to make this week. And oh ya, a wedding to attend!

Milestone

Kami is 12 weeks old today and..... started rolling over! She has been working on rolling back to front for about a week. Today she rolled front to back, left and right. She is getting so big. She loves to sit in her highchair and watch us cook and eat. She is also pulling herself forward. She has figured out how to pull on the blanket with her hands and push with her toes. She is going to be going places soon!

Fourth of July

The parade.

Chris and Chantelle.

Wow! We had a busy weekend. Friday we got up and went to the Ashton parade. It was a cute little parade, so little that they turn around at the High School and come back. No, I am not kidding. We enjoyed seeing our friends and the girls got to watch with Paul and Cynthia. We then rushed to Idaho Falls where we enjoyed a BBQ with Kyle's family. We had the privilege of meeting Chantelle (Chris' fiance). We did some shopping and visiting and helped Missy move her stuff. The wedding is less than a week away, crazy. Then we came back to Ashton and loaded up for Island Park. We stopped by at the fireworks first. We showed up 5 minutes before they started and sat in the back of the truck. We were literally right under them. It was awesome and the girls had so much fun. Kami would actually cry when they stopped, she loved them! We headed for Island Park pretty late, where Kyle and Marianne stayed up all night playing games. On Saturday, Chris and Chantelle came to stay with us. We played games and ate smores and had tons of fun. The best part, we played battle of the sexes and the girls cleaned house. Now we have lots of laundry to do, and an even busier week ahead.

Thursdays

So, we had are usual busy Thursday. We went to gymnastics this afternoon after a very busy morning at the barn. After gym we decided to hit the park and the girls had a ball. They love to ride the carousel and Kami liked it too. We then got to spend some time with grandma, grandpa, and George. The girls were so wore out that it did not take much coaxing to bed. They are resting for the big day tomorrow.

Blessing Photos

Yesterday Devin FINALLY sent me the pictures from Kami's blessing. They turned out great! Thanks Devin. We had a great time and should have taken a group pic with everyone who was there. We had a ton of fun getting together Saturday and playing pool and watching movies. Oh yes, and hot tubbing. Then we had a great lunch on Sunday after the beautiful blessing. We enjoyed seeing everyone, especially our Utah clan, and we really enjoyed having Devin and Julie stay with us for a couple of days.
